Polyanthus and Primula – Vibrant Spring Flowers

At Mount Folly, we cultivate an exciting range of Polyanthus and Primula, including the popular Stiletto and Euro varieties. These stunning spring flowers bring a burst of color and charm to any garden.

Primula Characteristics

  • Low-growing, compact plants
  • Excellent weather resistance—tough and hardy
  • Ideal for exposed beds, baskets, and pots
  • Single flower per stem
  • Produces many flowering stems throughout spring

Polyanthus Characteristics

  • Taller than Primula
  • Features multi-flowered stems
  • Performs best in sheltered positions
  • Adds height and drama to baskets and pots

Growing Tips

For optimal results, clear out any used summer bedding compost before replanting or treat your pots for vine weevil. Primula roots are a favorite food for vine weevil larvae, and eggs are laid from May to September. Changing your compost in autumn can help prevent infestations.
